Composing New Emails

Learn how to start a new conversation with a customer directly from Whisper.

You can start a new conversation with a customer directly from Whisper, without waiting for them to email you first.

How to Compose#

  1. Navigate to the Email page

    Navigate to the Email page.

  2. Click the Compose new email at the top of

    Click the Compose new email button (usually a pen icon) at the top of the thread list.

Compose Fields#

  • From: Select the integration (mailbox) you want to send the email from.
  • To: Enter the recipient's email. Whisper provides contact autocomplete based on your connected integrations.
  • CC: Click "Cc" to reveal and add carbon copy recipients.
  • Subject: Enter the email subject.
  • Body: Write your message.

Using Templates#

To speed up writing, click From template to insert a pre-saved response.

Open Thread Detection#

If you attempt to compose a new email to a customer who already has an ongoing, open conversation, Whisper will warn you:

  • "The recipient has an open conversation. Do you want to reply in thread instead?"
  • You can choose to view the open thread to keep all communication consolidated.

Sending#

When you are ready, click Send email. You will be prompted to choose:

  • Send and close: Sends the email and marks the conversation as resolved.
  • Send and keep open: Sends the email but leaves the conversation active for further follow-up.
